Taofriends®

All Taofriends® projects have one thing in common: At their very heart are people, sustainability and the need to conserve our natural resources. *Think global. Act local. *

Based on this motto, TAOASIS is building up a new worldwide network which forms a platform for creating new partnerships in developing countries on the one hand, whilst also supporting the domestic economy, particularly small craft enterprises, on the other. This is how the latest addition to the TAOASIS family, the Taonano, came into being. At first glance it’s a simple wooden cube, but in a matter of seconds the Taonano® shows what it’s really made of: 100% pure natural fragrance! This smart fragrance cube is available in two versions:

• The exquisitely crafted Taonano®, made from domestic ash wood, features integrated protection to stop the fragrance from leaking, plus a child-proof lock, and is a beautiful decorative piece for any living room.
• With the Taonano® bamboo, the fragrance is given off via a wooden ball. Here, bamboo has been combined with domestic woods.

Both fragrance cubes are made in Germany, with natural oils giving them a beautiful finish. Each fragrance cube is a unique piece made from real wood, which varies in terms of its colouring and grain.

TAOASIS builds a school in Togo:

Last year, construction work began on the school that Taoasis is financing in Togo; now, it is nearly finished! By building a primary school for 300 children, we are aiming to actively support children in Africa and give them hope for the future. The school that previously stood in the remote village of Dindou was built in 1991 and consisted of simple wooden structures with grass roofs to protect pupils from the sun and rain. Since the roofs were not watertight, in the rainy season lessons often had to be cancelled. Thanks to the support offered by Taoasis, a solid building has now been constructed with room for three classes. The whole village helped out with the building work. In March 2009 the building was completed, with everything in place, right from the foundations up to the roof. The final step is to install windows with mosquito protection.
