There are some essences whose history is marked by centuries of tradition and whose fragrances are still recognised and appreciated all around the world even today. Pure essential oils really are a miracle of nature, as well as being part of the culture of humankind; man must work with passion and dedication to extract them from the aromatic plants they call home. So that we can continue this tradition and ensure our children can benefit from healthy food and natural products, TAOASIS has been supporting the organic farming of aromatic plants for many years now.

TAOASIS tea tree lozenges are the world’s first organic lozenges, with 97.6% of their natural ingredients coming from controlled organic farms. But not every plant is suitable for producing a really high-quality essential oil. Only years of experience, care and expertise as regards the individual plant genera give one the tools to extract top-quality essential oils. In order to benefit from the full range of natural active substances, TAOASIS only selects the best, 100% natural essential oils. Today as in the past, the vast majority of these precious essences are extracted by means of the tried-and-tested traditional method of steam distillation.

The increasingly popular carrier oils are produced in a traditional way too. Jojoba, almond and evening primrose oils are obtained by means of a gentle technique called cold-drawing, as are all citrus oils. With just one exception, the first-class TAOASIS carrier oils, which are applied generously to the skin as part of aroma cosmetics treatments, all come from controlled organic farms! Of course, this much dedication and love of detail can really be seen in our products – whether it’s in the form of an aromatic, calming room fragrance or a soothing face cream with essence of lavender.

What’s more: At TAOASIS, the aromatherapy medicine chest contains much more than just peppermint natural medicine! The name TAOASIS is a synthesis of the Chinese word TAO and the Arabic word OASIS. Freely translated, it means “living in harmony with nature”.

In terms of maintaining consistent quality levels, we make the highest demands of all our products. This has been proven across Germany in tests conducted by independent institutions. TAOASIS products received top marks from both Stiftung Warentest (a German consumer safety group) and ÖKO-Test (a German consumer magazine). Our aroma cosmetics products are created in accordance with the stringent directives relating to the strictly controlled production of natural cosmetics. We operate to GMP pharmaceutical standards and are certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2000.

2. Sustainable development (CSR) in terms of:

• Economy: With its innovative products, TAOASIS is building up a worldwide network based on the motto “Think global – act local”; on the one hand, this network forms a platform for creating new partnerships in developing countries, whilst on the other hand it supports the domestic economy, particularly small craft enterprises.
• Ecology: From the growing of our aromatic plants right through to the shipping of our final products, we remain aware of the importance of environmental safety, the need to conserve natural resources, the potential for recycling and sustainability. We use renewable energy provided by Greenpeace Energy and our catalogues are produced to be climate-neutral.

3. Professional competence in the field of aromatherapy:

We provide ongoing training programmes, specialist literature and practical customer information exclusively for pharmacies involved in this area. Together with one-off events, such as Taomobil visits, and informative seminars, we are turning pharmacies into aromatherapy centres of excellence!
