TaoMobil Information

The Taomobil® is a well-known sight to many, but it is one which has now been given a makeover by its creator Axel Meyer, an author of specialist books and expert on aromatherapy: “Taobear”, a little cartoon koala bear, is eager to tell us all about his experiences with natural fragrances.
These tales cover the whole outside of the Taomobil® fragrance bus and can be seen from far and wide. The comic strips were created, with a great deal of care and wit, by illustrator Andi Wolff.

Inside, the Taomobil® is a fragrant oasis in a converted double-decker bus (4 m high, 12 m long and 2.5 m wide), where visitors both young and old can go on a panoramic tour of the world of natural essential oils and aromatherapy. It’s a fantastic opportunity for schoolchildren in particular to find out about the ancient art of using plants for healing purposes by concentrating on the key aspects in a way that really speaks to them.

Visitors are greeted right at the entrance to the two-storey adventure bus by a traditional field distillery, symbolising the very beginnings of plant distillation. The fragrance trail passes by a range of objects giving off natural fragrances (produced by TAOASIS) and leads up the stairs, along the 8 m long waterfall, and into the aromatic cinema, which has space for 16 people and combines images and scents in the most wonderful way imaginable.

Visitors to the Taomobil® can currently try out the relaxing and aromatic plant essences of organic lemon, lavender, organic mandarin, rose and tonka fruit. So the Taomobil® is really an aromatherapy information centre and a place to relax and enjoy new experiences at one and the same time.

In 2005 the Taomobil® went on a fragrance tour and so far it has had over 250,000 visitors. Estimated to have been seen by 45 million people, this extraordinary adventure bus is truly in a class all of its own, and has generated a wealth of reports in the press as well as on radio and television.
